Jessica Gagnon

Pronouns: She/Her
Favourite D&D Class: Fun Healing Subclasses

Jessica first gained interest in D&D back when it was still in 4e. Unfortunately she was never able to muster up enough people to get things going back then, but her interest persisted. After getting caught up watching Critical Role, and acquainting herself with the 5e rules, Jessica was finally able to play with her partner Kayla, and some friends. With time she progressed from playing the game, to running the game, and extended that into her work with children.
In 2021 Jessica ran her first D&D campaign with children in her YMCA school age program. Jessica lead them through a massive quest to save the world from a Dragon Cult, and after that she was hooked for good. The ultimate inspiration for YAG came from those same children, who wanted the chance to keep adventuring even after they grew too big for child care. In a way, YAG is a tribute to those Youth Adventurers while also serving as a path for new children and youth to get involved with such a fun and transformative game.

Jessica has 10+ years of experience in delivering children’s programming and works in a YMCA licensed before/after school child care on weekdays. Though she considers herself an amateur Dungeon Master, her games have captivated groups of children for at least the last 4 years.

Kayla Kennedy
Pronouns: She/They
Favourite D&D Class: Barbarian

Since being introduced to Critical Role in 2018, Kayla's interest into Dungeons and Dragons grew. Having played a few sessions with friends for the first time, she was hooked. As the brief campaigns that she was apart of fell apart, her thirst for playing grew. Now thanks to her partner Jessica, she is able to play with the Youth Adventurers' Guild and help bring the world of Dungeons and Dragons to local youth.
During the week she works in customer service as a Team Lead for a technology ecommerce company. In her spare time she likes to play video games, sew, and hang out with her 3 cats.

Kayla's role with the Youth Adventurers' Guild is on the administration side ensuring the space is booked, keeping track of financials and communicating with parents about important updates. She hopes to run more one shot sessions in the future to get into Dungeon Mastering games.
