Players’ Code of Conduct: Our Expectations
As a player I agree to follow and stick by these rules and ideas:
********************************************************
BE RESPECTFUL OF YOUR DM, OTHERS, OUR TIME AND OUR SPACE:
-
In D&D, sometimes you will fail a check or a quest won't always go the way you think. Being respectful of the DM means accepting that and moving along with the game.
-
We share our space with the lovely people of The Game Chamber and their other patrons. Being respectful of the space means actively trying not to make a mess, no writing/drawing/carving on the tables, not breaking any of the props or bothering any of the other patrons that might be present in the bigger play space. If we do make a mess, we need to clean it up before we leave.
-
We all share the same time at the table. Staying focused makes sure we don’t waste valuable adventure time talking about Roblox or Tiktok. Being respectful of our time means leaving idle chit chat until breaks or before/after the game.
-
We are writing this story together! Being respectful of others means being kind, leaving space for everyone around you both physically and to talk, and not telling others what to do unless they ask for your help. You are only in control of your own actions, nobody is the main character, and we’re all here to have fun.
MAINTAIN APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE:
-
There is no room for gross, disrespectful or discriminatory (racist, sexist, homophobic etc.) language at the table. If we hear this sort of talk, we will correct/educate about it the first time it happens. Repeat offenders may be removed from the table. Once you know better, you try to do better.
-
We would prefer to avoid swearing at our table, however we will allow mild language if it is contextually appropriate. Particularly vulgar/adult swears are prohibited at all times. For example, saying "shit" occasionally is fine, saying "f**k" is not. Best rule of thumb is to follow what is allowed at home - if you can't say it at home, don't say it at our table.

BE KIND:
-
We expect that you will not be rude or mean to other players at the table. You should be aware of what you are saying and doing and how that might affect others. We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying (targeted, repeated, malicious behaviour) and you may be asked to leave if this becomes something you are participating in.
-
If you do not like something that another player is doing, you will ask them to stop in a non-aggressive manner. If you are asked to stop doing something because it is bothering others, you will try your best to alter your behaviour. Do not fight back with the DM or other players if you are being asked to stop.
-
Celebrate each other’s wins! Please do cheer or join in on the joy of your fellow players when things go well for them and they will do the same for you.
HAVE FUN:
-
We are all here to have a good time. If you are feeling like you are not having a good time, feel free to ask the DM for a break.
This code of conduct outlines our expectations for your time in the program.
If we all follow these guiding rules, we will all have a good time.
